For mid-range to long-range and a lighter feel, sizes like 5000 or 6000 (often called Mini Big Pit models, such as the Sonik Xtractor) are excellent choices

Some people use this type of cooler exclusively for keeping their catch fresh, which is a pretty good idea

I havent noticed a reduction in bites after doing this, but I do get many more hookups, and lose much less plastic worms this way
